About this book
Most people quit the gym within three months — not because they are lazy, but because nobody showed them what to do, how much is enough, or how progress actually works.
This book is the system our coaches use with every new member at Royal Fitness Club. It teaches the seven movement patterns behind every exercise, step-by-step technique for the main lifts, a complete 12-week programme in three phases, warm-ups, eating for your first results, recovery, and how to keep going when motivation fades.
Written for complete beginners and people returning after a long break. No jargon without explanation. No shortcuts that cost you later.

Chapter 1
Why Strength Comes First
Walk into any gym in January and you will see two kinds of beginners. The first heads straight for the treadmill, stays there for forty minutes, leaves sweaty and tired, and is gone by March. The second spends the first few weeks learning to squat, push, pull and carry — slowly, with light weights and a lot of attention — and is still training a year later, visibly changed.
The difference is rarely willpower. It is that the second person started with the one quality that improves almost everything else: strength.
What strength actually is
Strength is your ability to produce force — to push, pull, lift, carry and resist. It is not the same as size, and it is not the same as fitness in the breathless, cardio sense. A strong person can get off the floor without using their hands, carry a 20-litre water can up the stairs, pick up a child without their back complaining, and still feel capable at seventy.
Strength is also trainable at any age. Studies in people in their eighties and nineties have shown clear strength gains from simple resistance training in a matter of weeks. Whatever age you are reading this at, your muscles will respond.
The book continues for 74 pages across 12 chapters.
