About this book

Most diets work — for a few weeks. Then hunger, cravings, social life and fatigue win, and the weight comes back. The problem isn't your willpower. It's a plan built for a fantasy life instead of your real one.

This book gives you a fat-loss system that works with Indian food, family meals, festivals and busy jobs. You'll learn how energy balance really works, how to set calories and protein, how to train to keep your muscle, how to manage hunger and plateaus, and — most importantly — how to keep the fat off afterwards.

No banned foods. No detox teas. No crash diets. Just a plan you can live with.

Chapter 1

What Fat Loss Really Is

Body fat is stored energy. When you take in less energy from food than your body uses, it draws on stored energy — including fat — to make up the difference. That is the foundation of every successful fat-loss approach, whatever it's called.

But "eat less, move more" is a slogan, not a plan. Your body adapts to dieting: hunger rises, energy dips, daily movement often drops without you noticing, and if you don't train and eat enough protein, some of the weight you lose is muscle. A good plan accounts for all of this.

Weight loss versus fat loss

The scale measures everything: fat, muscle, water, food in your gut, and glycogen (stored carbohydrate, which holds water). Early drops on a new diet are often mostly water and glycogen. Day-to-day changes are mostly water. What you want is fat loss while keeping muscle — which may show on the scale more slowly but changes how you look and feel far more.

The book continues for 60 pages across 18 chapters.
