Feeling cold or tired in December does not always mean your dose changed. TSH takes 6–8 weeks to reflect any real shift.

Levothyroxine has a long half-life; TSH lags any change by weeks. Symptoms are unreliable for titration, so patients who self-increase in winter risk palpitations, insomnia and, over years, atrial fibrillation and bone loss.
A consistent routine matters more than brand loyalty: same time, empty stomach, water only, and 30–60 minutes before breakfast; iron, calcium and antacids separated by about four hours.
