About this book
Men are taught to be strong, provide, protect — and not to talk about how they feel. So many don't, until they can't any more.
This book is a frank, practical guide to men's mental health: why men struggle in silence, how depression and anxiety often look different in men, the links with anger, alcohol, work and relationships, and the specific pressures on Indian men. It offers tools for managing stress and emotions, how to talk about difficult things, how to support a friend, and where to get help.
Written for men who lift, work, lead and care — and for the people who love them.
Educational guide. It supports — never replaces — care from your doctor, and contains no doses, cycles or sources.

The Silent Struggle
The numbers
Globally, men die by suicide at higher rates than women — in many countries, roughly two to four times higher. In India, according to National Crime Records Bureau data, men account for a large majority of reported suicides. Men are also less likely to seek mental health care.
The "man box"
Many men grow up with unwritten rules:
• Don't cry.
• Don't show weakness.
• Solve problems yourself.
• Be the provider.
• Anger is acceptable; sadness isn't.
• Real men don't need help.
These rules can feel protective, but they often trap men alone with their pain.
Strength isn't never struggling. Strength is facing what's hard — including asking for help.
The Indian context
Indian men often carry additional pressures:
• Being the main earner for an extended family.
• Career and exam pressure from an early age.
• Expectations around marriage, property and status.
• Limited language or permission to discuss feelings.
• Stigma around mental illness ("What will people say?").
The book continues for 53 pages across 20 chapters.
